June Announces Launch of Edible Drops

June Brands, LLC (June), a purpose-based skin care and wellness company headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, launched its first ingestible CBD product today, adding a fully organic, clean product to the rapidly growing US “CBD” product market. Since the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, the market for CBD products from hemp has exploded, but quality standards are lacking, and many products contain questionable ingredients.

June’s new 30 ml product, Edible Drops, is a blend of three organically grown plant oils: fractionated coconut oil, full spectrum hemp oil containing 300mg of CBD (cannabidiol), and peppermint oil. The ingredients were chosen to promote balance and the feeling of calm--without any “high.”  Edible Drops contain less than 0.3% THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid), and 300 mg of CBD, the cannabinoid that studies indicate--and consumers report--can relieve or reduce anxiety, pain, insomnia and more. June recommends customers start with .25-.5 ml of Edible Drops, taking as needed throughout the day.

In this under-regulated space, June is setting a high bar for quality. All ingredients used in any June product must pass June's industry-leading Clean Screen protocol, established by “clean” products pioneer Mia Davis, who has been behind the clean standards for Beautycounter, Credo Beauty, type:A, and others.  Davis joined Sylvia Wehrle, a veteran user experience designer and entrepreneur, as co-founder of the startup company, in February 2019.

“June is the epitome of ‘clean.’  Far beyond the usual “free of” list, we take a deeper, more proactive approach: We screen every material (from ingredients to packaging) for their potential impact on human health and the environment. No known or suspected hormone disrupting ingredients, no cheap fillers, and no secrets. We are radically transparent, and we lab test our formulas for possible contamination and for CBD level accuracy,” Davis said.

The CBD/hemp products market is expected to reach $22 billion by 2022, according to the Brightfield Group, Feb 2019.

“Our partnership with the growers and extractors of Garden Om Hemp Co. is core to who we are. Together, we’re working to create a sustainable US hemp industry that pays small farmers a living wage for growing this plant responsibility.  This industry is rapidly expanding, and it is up to stakeholders like June and Garden Om to ensure it is done right-- in a way that respects the farmers, the earth, the clients and everyone in between,” said Sylvia Wehrle.

June Edible Drops joins the brand’s current lineup of clean products-- Facial Oil, Body Oil and Grooming Oil, all made with organic or wildcrafted plant oils and Garden Om hemp oil/CBD. The company plans to expand its assortment in both skin care and ingestibles.
